Linear Park in Cambridge and SomervilleNice path through trees

Status/News (January 2010): A MassDOT project underway in 2010 is improving sections of this path, including the crossing of Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge and through Davis Square in Somerville.

The Linear Park is a existing ?-mile multi-use path from the MBTA's Alewife station in Cambridge above the Red Line subway tunnel to Davis Square in Somerville. It is also sometimes called the Linear Park and the Somerville section is considered part of the Somerville Community Path by some.

This Path is owned by the MBTA and is maintained by the cities of Cambridge and Somerville.

The Cambridge Bicycle Committee, the Friends of the Community Path and the Somerville Bicycle Committee all advocate for the Linear Park.

Improvements to the Linear Park will be constructed in 2010 in Davis Sqaure and where the Path crosses Massachusetts Avenue: http://www.cambridgema.gov/CDD/et/infra/linear/crossing.html
